I have been coaching fitness for over 15 years. I opened my first CrossFit Affiliate in 2007 and have never looked back. I wake up every day and get to do exactly what I love most in life; coach amazing people. From the kids, to the competitive athletes to the grandmothers, to those looking to lose 100 lbs – all these people inspire me to be a better person. One of my benchmarks for success and happy life is to be able to blur the lines between work and play, and I can say with 100% certainty that I am doing just that at CFNE!
My first introduction to CrossFit was back in the summer of 2014 when I joined the program to supplement the team sports I was playing. There were lots of reasons why I loved it but there are two that stick out in my mind. Number one: I started to feel so much more confident in my speed, whether it was a breakaway in soccer or a home-to-first-time trial in softball, I began feeling faster than I ever had before. Number two: my first CrossFit coach was an incredible role model to have at 15 years old. It was so special to have a woman to look up to who could see my own body type in. She was muscular and strong, something I didn't get to see in the media so often back then. The combination of becoming a better athlete while becoming a more confident person is what makes CrossFit so special to me. I am so grateful for the part I get to play in each of our athletes' journeys every day. Seeing our members gain their own confidence, chase their goals, and surprise themselves each day is the most fulfilling and exciting part of my day, every day. Longevity of a healthy, happy life may be the overall goal; but I look forward to helping each of our athletes make a step closer to their biggest goals, one day at a time.
I found CrossFit in 2015 in order to prepare myself for the Marine Corps. Later that same year, I attended the games as a spectator and it solidified my love of the sport and (more importantly) the community. In 2016, while training in Virginia, I got my Level 1 to better understand CrossFit and hopefully set myself up to coach in the future. Over the next few years, I knew that CrossFit would be a big part of my life but I wasn’t sure in what capacity. In 2021 I took the leap and obtained my Level 2 with the intention of pursuing coaching. Whether it’s training Marines or athletes, I have a passion for coaching and teaching and it felt like the natural progression. I truly believe that CrossFit is accessible to all ages and abilities and we’re only limited by our imagination. Fitness is for everyone. I began coaching at CrossFit New England in 2023 and it’s truthfully a dream come true. Our community is one of a kind and to spend each day surrounded by such inspiring people is more than I could have imagined.
I’m originally from the Boston area but spent seven years living in Denver, CO where most of my CrossFit life has taken place. In the last year, I made the decision to move back east and dive head first into coaching as my only career instead of a part-time passion, which has led me to this wonderful community. My athletic background primarily consists of over 10 years of swimming and running. After running began to lose interest, a friend of mine finally convinced me to come to his gym for an intro class. I began CrossFit in 2013, fell in love with the challenge, and never looked back! After a couple of years, I decided that I wanted to be able to share all that CrossFit had given me with as many people as possible. Outside of fitness and coaching, a few of my other favorite things are snowboarding and hiking, coffee, being the best Aunt ever, petting all of the dogs, and all things Star Wars related.
I was involved in the dance world my whole life, and the only other interests that really stuck with me outside of that are coffee and CrossFit. My first time stepping into a box was after hearing my fiance and his best friend geek out over this new fitness thing they started doing together. They were so passionate about it that I asked to tag along the next time they went... 8 years later, the gym is still my happy place. Recognizing the little wins and all the firsts made it easy to see my progress over time and I'm STILL getting better. My favorite part, though, is meeting someone new who is trying CrossFit for the first time, and celebrating their wins with them. That is a million times better than doing it myself. You can usually find me at the front desk handling admin responsibilities and slingin' espresso off the Anna's Coffees menu. Come say hi!
